The "edit" button is no longer an option.

Why? I live for my "edit" button! I never get everything right the first time!!

Apparently the "Delete" button is gone as well, yes?
Will these changes be permanent?

I agree! The edit button in particular has saved my reputation many a time! Even when I check my work I still often miss errors, and it's a bit of an embarrasment if I can't fix it. Please reconsider!

Why does the font box cover the area where we are typing??? I thought I was the only one who had this problem so I am glad that Gretchen mentioned it - I hope you can help us Alby! Once I post a few sentences then I am "typing blindly" until the words pass under the font box and come out the other side  and then I can see them again!!?? This is one reason why I really need my edit button these days! In the past the only one who could edit or delete a post was the person who posted it or a Moderator. Alby, could you please restore these buttons orexplain why they cannot be restored? Thanks and kisses in advance! :)

Why does the font box cover the area where we are typing???
I had mine cleared up and have noticed it is doing the same thing again. But I found a way to get around it. If you notice there are two little arrows, one pointed down (blue) and one pointed up (green) next to the spell check symbol. If you click on the down arrow the bottom portion of the reply screen increases. I hit enter until I am below the portion blocking the typing and start my typing here. So the top portion is blank. It still posts just fine on the board. Try and see if it works for you. If you quote anyone, you will need to click in front of the quote and hit enter until it goes below and then you can begin your post. The bottom will automatically expand if you need more room, or if you want to be able to read everything, just click on the down arrow again until it all shows. Hope this works for you for now.

I too am interested in knowing why the edit and delete buttons were removed. I have always found them useful when I have made big boo-boos or changed my mind about how I have said something after I have posted it.

Thanks, Alby, for taking your time to answer our concerns.

Your reputation will always be safe with us MaryM, we know you're a fine lady.

The buttons will be back on Saturday. ;)
The glitches are being fixed, so there are a few options disabled. The other option was to close the board fow a couple of days, but it didn't seem the right moment with so many news about Roy these days.
:D

The typing box issue, happened to me the first 3-4 posts I did on the upgraded version of the board, and then never again.
Anyway it's something that shouldn't happen so it will be fixed hopefully by sat. ;)

You're welcome! :)
The edit button is now available during the 5 minutes after you post something, giving you enough time to check if the post went well or not, spell, grammar errors, etc. You can take all your time to edit the post, but you have to click on "edit", up to five minutes after you post.

Mr Gingy is such a lovely character! I didn't watch Shrek 4 yet, but I can't wait to see it! :D
