Anyway, back to Roy! I will review the conversation between Roy and Catherine and see if there is much new - but who really cares what is being said in this video? - he looks soooo darn good!! (she does a fair amount of flirting with him...which she is known for...for example, at the premiere of Je Me Souviens which, I think is somewhere on this site...of course, Roy doesn't seem to mind it!) :woohoo:
I will return with a "he said, she said" if it is warranted. ;)

Catherine – What was the best thing about playing Mercier?
Roy – The best, well, it was fun …I had just returned from the North Coast (of Quebec) where I’d been filming Louis Bélanger’s movie (The Timekeeper) in the mosquito-infested woods, which I love! But then a week later I’m in Paris at a “grand hotel” with a chauffeured limo on a major film set with a great gang of people so…and the pay is always fun!
C – You had met Vincent Cassel 25 years before?
R – Yes, before.
C – Was it better to have a friend like that?
R - Yes, well, he had introduced me to Paris.
C – When Vincent Cassel was in Montreal before, all the journalists said he was really disagreeable. What’s he like to work with on a shoot?
R – Very good! I had no problems.
C - Was he nice?
R – Certainly! I find he’s an intelligent and generous actor, “on the mark” - in the sense that he totally understood the story. I could see why he has become a star.
C – I read that you were overwhelmed by the huge sets and the technical expertise they employed…
R – I wasn’t overwhelmed but …just that it was a film set where they had so many resources at their fingertips…like, during the famous prison break scenes that took a few days to shoot, they took one day just to mark out the camera positions – I’d never seen that before.
C – To play the role of Mercier - Did you have much information about him to study the character?
R – Yes, well there’s very little documentation about Mercier – a couple of newspaper articles – but the main impressions of Mercier were from what Mesrine had said about him. As it was a film about Mesrine, what mattered was to play Mercier from Mesrine’s point of view. What was important was how a criminal of equal status behaved with Mesrine – because Mesrine did perceive Mercier as an equal.
This next question (in bold type) is a mystery to me – I am not sure what she is asking him – nevertheless it all seems in good fun, whatever they are talking about! I have asked for help on this from an Italian friend (who understands French), as the word sounded Italian, but she says she cannot understand it either (and she checked with a French friend and she’s lost as well!) If there is anyone out there who can help – Please jump in!
C – Have you crossed (come across?) Carvelicci yet?
R- No.(with a big grin)
C – Never! Darn, darn, darn! (laughing)
C – Well, then would you please do the intro and say, “ you are on Catherine’s pink carpet”?
R- No, I don’t feel like it…(smiling as he starts to walk away)
C – Oh! Come on…
R – O.K.

Isn't she asking him if he's met Monica Bellucci (Mrs Cassel)?
Btw that's Hélène Mailloux who gets out of the car first.

Marcia, I had no idea that was Gilbert Sicotte in the other video. I guess it has been a while since Cap Tourmente!
Viv, I think you've got it! Sounds like she could be saying Monica Bellucci. I totally missed Helene in that clip!  Good to "see" you Viv! ;)

My husband has an absolute crash   on Monica (Cassel's wife) like a lot of men around the world and :P I can't blame them. She is gorgeous. So I can understand why Catherine asks that question in a playful way. :D
Thanks Marcialouise.
