I just wish this Nikita turns out better than we think it will. I'd really like to have a really good, not-the-same-old-thing series to watch.!!!!! But come on, now...exploding lipstick...again? :unsure: Maybe if they changed the name, to !!!GERTRUDE!!!, or maybe !!!MARYLOU!!! I think Gertrude would fit very nicely although she looks like a "Megan" popular girls name of the 2000's
As far as Michael...OMG so doesn't fit this guy :angry:

Of all the remakes to choose from, why did they have to pick Nikita and tick off the regular LFN Fans????

Just saw the first coming attraction for the new CW fall show, Nikita :bleurgh:
The action shots were so fast that my eyeballs crossed and the music background was enough to make me hold my ears........

Whatever did they have in mind? :cry:

Maggie Q is gorgeous, which is a plus for the series and sure to draw in the men...at least for a while. Shane West as Micheal is just too "out there" for me. They seem to have redefined the characters, which will be disconcerting for any LFN fans. The guy playing Percy is always a creep, so "Operations" will probably come off looking like a choir boy in comparison. The characters in LFN were menacing, but in a more subtle way. There was an underlying uncertainty/ominousness in the stories, which seems to be missing in what I see in the clips. Everything in this new series is so big and loud. The subtleties of LFN...especially the early seasons...seem to be missing in this new series.
We'll just have to put LFN out of our minds (if that's even possible) and think of this upcoming series as a completely new entity, otherwise none of us LFN fans will be able to even give it a chance (if any of us are thinking of trying to give it a chance ;) ).

If they keep the media blitz going and have any even half-way good episodes to start it out, they might make it. Yeaoh...that VERY low budget the LFN producers had to work with really hampered them. The world-wide popularity of LFN is a tribute to a darn good show and amazing actors. :wub:

It's not exactly about the new Nikita, but the old movie ''Nikita''. It got aired over here a few days back. What I realized as I watched it and then read this topic again, is that, after seeing Roy and Peta's LFN, it's hard to watch another. The stories seem vastly different simply due to the way they portray the characters. ''Our'' Nikita is, well,... Nikita. The other characterizations, simply don't seem ''Nikita'' to me. And I really can't think of anyone else doing Michael other than Roy ;) . :wub: Roy ''made'' Michael. So, if I watch either of the old and the new nikita, I think I'd enjoy them better if I don't think of LFN. I'd just have to think Gertrude/ Megan. :D

Hi PompB, I agree with you on how to watch the new Nikita.... I plan to watch it as a totally different story with no relation to 'OUR' Nikita!!!! Peta Wilson and Roy Dupuis defined the parts they played and to me they are Nikita and Michael. From all accounts this new show is NEW and quite different so maybe it won't be too hard to watch as long as the comparisons are kept to a minimum!!!! LynneJ
